What Material Is Acetate Fiber?
If someone asks you, what are the popular glasses now? That is acetate glasses (acetate sunglasses and acetate optics).
Acetate glasses have been very popular in recent years, and compared to ordinary metal sunglasses, metal optical glasses and buffalo horn glasses, etc., acetate glasses are the most popular among these glasses.
Most of the board components are acetate fibers, so when talking about board glasses, we have to talk about cellulose acetate. What material is acetate fiber?
History of Cellulose Acetate:
The history of cellulose acetate dates back to 1865, when Paul Schutzenberger was in charge of making the first acetate, but it wasn't until 1894 that Charles Cross and Edward Bevan created a production method. Ten years later, the discovery that partially hydrolyzed CA could be dissolved in acetone prompted brothers Camille and Henri Dreyfus (Swiss brothers whose product Celanese is still manufactured as a fiber for fashion clothing) to manufacture CA films and lacquers, during the First World War Used to fang water and reinforce fabrics used to cover aircraft wings.
Application of cellulose acetate:
The use of cellulose in eyewear isn't necessarily new - the material was used to create the faux tortoiseshell designs that were popular in the 1980s - but the aesthetic has been given a contemporary twist. This interaction between old and new can be seen in the 'Ensemble', a pair of sunglasses paired with a range of accessories that combine modern technology with 1970s-inspired colour options. In another example of reinvention, "Extreme" blurs the lines between sportswear and fashion, moving away from the image that plastic is mass-produced without a soul, rather than emphasizing the quality and personality that can be gained through CA use.
Production of cellulose acetate:
Cellulose acetate is made by treating cellulose with acetic acid and acetic anhydride using a catalyst (sulfuric acid). Cellulose triacetate contains 62.5% acetic acid and is soluble in acid reactions; it is placed in water, washed and dried. The composition for molding cellulose acetate is made of acetate flakes, plasticizers (10-70 parts), pigments and dyes by mixing in a drum mixer, extruder or internal mixer at 175°C and 270°C Mix these ingredients at a temperature between °C.
Features of cellulose acetate:
Cellulose acetate has good toughness and impact resistance; is stable at room temperature and has good discoloration resistance in sunlight. This material can be produced in a variety of colors, in transparent or translucent forms. The application fields are very wide, including toys, sundries, hoses, etc.; in sheet form, it is widely used in packaging, electrical insulation and belts. It is also used in large quantities in the production of non-flammable photographic films.
Acetate glasses are stylish, colorful and easier to match with clothing (especially acetate sunglasses). In recent years, acetate optics and acetate sunglasses have become one of the most popular eyewear.
It combines the thickness of acetate with different metal fittings for individuality and style. The shape of the glasses is both modern and classic, with a streamlined and colorful stitching frame.
