Walmart Works To Change Oklahoma Law

Walmart won approval to begin soliciting signatures to allow retail optometry by the Oklahoma Supreme Court. The current law in Oklahoma mandates medical practices must operate in medical settings and not large retail environments. The Oklahoma Association for Optometric Physicians challenged Oklahomans for Consumer Freedoms efforts to place the matter on a ballot. The ruling allows proponents of the change to continue collecting signatures with a goal of placing the matter on a November ballot.
