The Road To Crooked Glasses
The road to crooked glasses
Glass fitting institutions generally make preliminary adjustments to the frames that are about to be put on the shelves to ensure that the parameters at all angles of the frames meet the custom fitting standards.
After the customer selects the frame, the professional and responsible organization will make targeted secondary adjustments based on the customer's wearing condition before the glasses are processed. Then, after the lens is installed and processed, the frame will be fine-tuned for the third time based on customer feedback when the customer picks up the lens.
However, as time goes by, new glasses that have been adjusted several times gradually become crooked due to the following reasons.
①Incorrect usage posture
If you are familiar with the movements in the picture below, congratulations, 80% of the glasses frames were bent bit by bit by yourself.
Taking off glasses with one hand is the most common method that causes frame deformation. For most glasses, the frame and temples are connected by hinges, with screws or springs in between. When you take off and put on your glasses with one hand, one side of the glasses will be pulled apart while the other side of the glasses is still pressed against your face.
When wearing glasses with one hand, you also need to put one temple on your face to receive force, then pull the temple, and then the other side can be put on smoothly.
The two legs of the glasses are unevenly stressed, and the metal material may even be deformed due to pulling, resulting in different widths on both sides, deformation of the position of the pile head and the screw connection, resulting in abnormal height of the temples.
Please remember: use two hands to take off your glasses!
②Glasses are not suitable for high and low ears
When they find that their glasses are skewed, many people may think of two possibilities: Are my ears high on one side and low on the other?
Generally, before handing over new glasses to customers, the staff will adjust the glasses 2 to 3 times. The second and third adjustments are special adjustments based on different people's facial features and wearing habits. Even if there are high and low ears, it will usually be adjusted by the processing technician to balance both sides during the second adjustment.
Therefore, high and low ears may indeed cause the frame to be unbalanced, but as long as it is properly adjusted, it can be worn comfortably.
However, if the frame adjustment of the glasses dispensing institution is not detailed enough, or if the glasses are purchased online, high and low ear positions may occur due to the lack of necessary adjustment steps.
③Not maintained for a long time
As a corrective tool that needs to be worn every day, glasses are exposed to the sun and rain. Over time, even if they have been adjusted properly before, the screws will become loose due to frequent opening and closing of the temples, and the nose pads will become damaged due to excessive accumulation of dust and grease. Astringent hair, etc. If maintenance is not carried out in time, the wearing comfort may be reduced over time, including the easy sliding of the frame and the change of the position of the nose pads. The manifestation on your face is: the glasses are crooked.
④The pot of the glasses themselves
The frame is prone to crooking, which may also be related to the material of the frame. If the selected frame material itself is soft and not very hard, or if there are process problems, if the lenses are thicker, or because the power difference between the two glasses is too large or the thickness of the lenses on both sides is uneven, the stress after processing will be greater. If it is too large, it may have a reverse "shaping" effect on the frame.
This situation is also common in some sports frames. Since the sports frame itself has a large surface curvature, there is also the possibility of deforming the frame after fitting a conventional base-curved aspherical lens.
