Selection Of Lenses For Presbyopic Glasses
Generally speaking, eyeglass lenses can be divided into two categories, namely glass lenses and optical resin lenses.
Glass lenses include optical glass lenses and high refractive index lenses (commonly known as ultra-thin lenses), which have high hardness and good wear resistance. Generally, their quality and various parameters do not change over time. However, the impact resistance and weight of glass lenses are slightly inferior to those of resin lenses.
Resin lenses are generally much lighter than glass lenses and have better impact resistance than glass lenses, but their surface hardness is lower and they are more prone to scratches. Due to their soft characteristics, resin lenses and coated lenses should not be allowed to contact hard objects directly at ordinary times. When scrubbing, it is best to use clean water (or mixed with a small amount of Dishwashing liquid) first, and then use special test cloth or high-quality cotton paper to absorb water drops on glasses. In addition, in areas with poor environmental conditions, coated lenses should be used with caution to avoid contamination and difficulty in cleaning.
